Cambodia

 

Unfortunately, Cambodia is another country with a tragic past and a troubled present, but there is hope for a much better future. While they Khmer Rouge may have tried, they could not steal the souls of the Khmers; they remain beautiful and genuine. The Angkor Complex is of course world famous; this is for very good reason. I can't think of anywhere else in the world I would recommend visiting more highly. While I have been awed (as have millions of others), by the Temples of Angkor, there were private moments that happened for me off the main trails that will likely remain my most treasured travel memories.
